Who Operates StoryStudio
StoryStudio is provided by YOUR LEGAL NAME OR COMPANY.
Before public launch, the operator name above must be replaced with the actual individual, company, or other legal entity offering StoryStudio.
Eligibility and Accounts
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms and must satisfy any minimum age requirements that apply in your location.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity that occurs through your StoryStudio account. You must provide accurate account information and promptly protect or change credentials if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not impersonate another person, access another user's account without authorization, or attempt to bypass StoryStudio's authentication or access controls.
Your Creative Content
You retain ownership of the creative content you create, upload, enter, or store in StoryStudio, including manuscripts, screenplays, story ideas, characters, locations, outlines, timelines, Story Bible entries, notes, and related creative materials ("Your Content").
StoryStudio does not claim ownership of Your Content merely because you store or process it through the service.
You grant StoryStudio a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use Your Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and provide the features you request.
This operational license ends when the relevant content is deleted from the active service, subject to reasonable backup, security, legal, and disaster recovery retention.
Your Responsibility for Content
You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring that you have the rights necessary to upload, store, process, or publish it.
You may not use StoryStudio to knowingly store or distribute content that violates applicable law or the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of another person.
StoryStudio is a creative tool. It does not independently verify whether your writing, ideas, references, names, characters, or other content infringe third-party rights.
AI Copilot and AI-Generated Content
StoryStudio may provide optional AI-powered features, including AI Copilot. When you intentionally use an AI feature, relevant prompts and project context may be sent to the configured AI provider in order to generate the requested response.
AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, offensive, unsuitable, or similar to output provided to other users. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated material before relying on it, publishing it, or incorporating it into your work.
StoryStudio does not guarantee that AI output is original, unique, factually correct, legally protectable, non-infringing, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Your use of AI features may also be subject to reasonable usage limits, rate limits, plan limits, or abuse controls.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse StoryStudio. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to StoryStudio, another user's account, private projects, databases, servers, or infrastructure.
- Circumventing or attempting to circumvent rate limits, subscription limits, authentication, Row Level Security, AI usage controls, or other technical restrictions.
- Introducing malware, destructive code, automated abuse, denial-of-service traffic, or other activity intended to disrupt StoryStudio.
- Using automated systems to place an unreasonable load on the service without written permission.
- Reverse engineering or attempting to obtain confidential server-side credentials, private keys, or proprietary source code except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Using StoryStudio in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of another person.
Backups, Versions, and Exports
StoryStudio may provide autosave, writing snapshots, version history, project backup, DOCX export, PDF export, or other data portability features. These features are intended to reduce risk, but they are not a substitute for maintaining independent backups of work that is important to you.
You are responsible for keeping offline copies or additional backups of manuscripts and creative projects you cannot afford to lose.
StoryStudio does not guarantee that every edit, version, export, or deleted item can always be recovered.
Availability and Changes
StoryStudio may change, add, remove, improve, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time.
The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, infrastructure failures, software errors, third-party provider outages, security incidents, upgrades, or events outside StoryStudio's reasonable control.
StoryStudio does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability of every feature.
Paid Plans, Billing, and Renewals
StoryStudio may offer free, trial, subscription, credit-based, lifetime, or other paid plans in the future.
If you purchase a paid product or plan, the price, billing interval, included features, AI allowance, taxes, cancellation terms, renewal terms, and any refund terms presented to you at the time of purchase will form part of your agreement with StoryStudio.
Purchases made through Apple, Google, or another app marketplace may also be subject to that marketplace's billing, cancellation, and refund rules.
StoryStudio will not charge you for a paid plan until a paid checkout or subscription system is actually made available and you affirmatively complete the purchase process.
Third-Party Services
StoryStudio depends on third-party services to provide certain functionality. Current examples include Supabase for authentication and backend infrastructure and OpenAI for optional AI generation.
Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, uptime, limitations, and technical requirements. StoryStudio is not responsible for third-party services to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Privacy
StoryStudio's handling of personal information and creative project data is described in the Privacy Policy.
By using StoryStudio, you acknowledge that information will be processed as described in the Privacy Policy and as necessary to provide the features you request.
Account and Project Deletion
StoryStudio may provide controls for deleting individual projects and for permanently deleting your entire account.
Permanent deletion is destructive and generally cannot be undone. You are responsible for exporting or backing up any material you wish to retain before confirming deletion.
StoryStudio may retain limited information after deletion where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, backup rotation, dispute resolution, or enforcement of these Terms.
Suspension and Termination
StoryStudio may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, infrastructure, or third parties; investigate suspected abuse; enforce these Terms; comply with law; or address nonpayment of an applicable paid plan.
Where reasonable and legally permitted, StoryStudio may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue before permanent termination.
Intellectual Property in StoryStudio
StoryStudio, including its application design, branding, software, interface, documentation, and other service materials, is owned by or licensed to the StoryStudio operator and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of StoryStudio's software, trademarks, branding, or proprietary technology to you.
Feedback
If you voluntarily provide product ideas, feature requests, bug reports, or other feedback about StoryStudio, you allow StoryStudio to use that feedback without restriction or obligation to compensate you.
This feedback provision does not give StoryStudio ownership of your manuscripts, stories, characters, or other creative project content.
No Professional Advice
StoryStudio provides creative writing and organizational tools. StoryStudio and its AI features do not provide legal, financial, medical, tax, publishing, literary-agent, or other professional advice.
You should consult an appropriate professional when you need advice on rights, contracts, publishing, copyright, taxes, business decisions, or other professional matters.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StoryStudio is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
StoryStudio disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade, except where such disclaimers are prohibited by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryStudio and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, business, reputation, data, manuscripts, creative work, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of StoryStudio.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations or exclusions of liability, so some of the limitations in these Terms may not apply to you.
Any monetary liability cap should be finalized with qualified legal counsel before StoryStudio begins accepting paid subscriptions.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of StoryStudio, your violation of these Terms, or Your Content where you did not have the legal right to use that content.
Governing Law
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of YOUR STATE / COUNTRY, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
This governing-law placeholder must be replaced before public launch based on the actual StoryStudio operator and business location.
Changes to These Terms
StoryStudio may update these Terms as the product, business model, service providers, legal requirements, or features change.
The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when these Terms change. If a change materially affects your rights, StoryStudio may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Continued use of StoryStudio after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
General Terms
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
A failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not waive the right to enforce it later.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific or purchase-specific terms presented to you, form the agreement governing your use of StoryStudio.
